LO1 - KTA2 - Write Up Of Industry Professional Notes

KTA2 - Write Up Of Industry Professional Notes

Case Study One - 99 Mary Street

The purpose of the event is to promote arts and creative arts. It includes a bar and places for people to be social. As the intended target audience people looking for networking opportunities and new experiences. The design is to follow a Industrial style the building is mainly redbrick and even the food follows the style.

Its located on 99 Mary street which is near Hendrickson Avenue and Court Street. The buildings suitability is important for the invent like making sure there rare no bottlenecks so the flow of people isn't tight (as the full capacity of the building is 150 guests). Also all stairs were replaced with ramps to so the disabled could access the area.  Also the building had no sound system in place, so a company had to be hired to wire up lighting and sound etc.

The event needed a 'Temporary Events Notice' from sheffield city council to allow certain images and media to be shown. (All of there own media however does not require a license). A alcohol and music license is also needed. This will cover up to 499 people.

Finally a health and safety check is compulsory. A risk assessment is carried out to make sure the area is safe, for example all wires are taped down and the bar staff are properly instructed in the correct way.

Case Study Two - Doc/Fest

The purpose of the event is to have a entertaining formal networking event. The event includes rollerskating, which will only appeal to certain audiences. The main target audience is film and industry professionals. The design style of the event os a 70's and 80's disco music, this is why the event includes rollerskating to capture the old school feel and also a party atmosphere.

The event is located on queens road, there are lots of external signs around to help guide you around but this is mainly for guests from abroad as this is a international event. Guest are not required to pay, but for public entrance it costs £10 each. There will be door staff to check wether your over 18 so you will also require proof of ID.

As seen as the event has rollerskating certain health and safety assessments are needed. For example having no liquids on the ring to minimise slipping. There will also be 'Skate guards' to help people around the ring, there will also be qualified 1st aiders.
